5 Trendy Protective Hairstyles For This Fall/Winter
Hey Loves! This is my first blog post and it feels a little awkward. I never expected to see me as a blogger but here I am! For my first post, I want to do something that is brand. Therefore, I figured "Hey! Let me do what's trending right regarding hairstyles!". I recently just got distressed locs in a bob and I'm in love with them!
Importance of Protective Styles (especially in the colder months)
Protective styles help protect (haha) your hair! Keeping your hair protected helps with growth. Also, in protective styles, you can moisturize your scalp (which helps with growth!). If your hair is left out during the colder months, your hair is more prone to break off due to the dryness of the air. (As a Black woman there is nothing worst than dry hair!) Protective styles also can last a long time (1-2 months!). In the winter it's all dark and nobody wants to be struggling with their hair in the morning. With protective styles, you can just wake up and go! All these benefits sound like music to my ears. The next step is picking out what style you even want to rock.
1. Distressed Locs Bob

3. Wigs
Wigs are meant for the winter! No one can tell me otherwise. In summer wigs are such a struggle. Your lace starts lifting because you are sweating and it's super hot! In the winter you can give us cute colors, different styles. Even if you don't feel like dealing with that lace you can cover it up with a beanie! Wigs are perfect as you have your cornrows underneath and when the day is over you rip it off your head, then get to moisturizing your scalp. But you have to be very cautious about your edges not to rip them off!
Price: Varies on length, color and texture.
4. Marley Twists
This style is so cute when it's long. This style is a great option for those who have a hard time committing to a hairstyle because it will start to unravel a little bit quicker than braids.
